Grinding is the finishing trade of concrete cutting. It takes down the high spots, knocks the lip off a trip hazard, smooths the rough edge a saw or breaker leaves behind, and preps a surface for whatever goes on it next. It’s also step six of our own wall sawing process: we don’t walk away from an opening until the edges are clean and even.

What do you use concrete grinding for?
Trip hazards, high spots, form lines and lippage between slabs, roughing a surface for a coating, and taking down a joint that has heaved.
Can you grind out a trip hazard instead of replacing the slab?
Usually, yes, and it is a fraction of the cost of a tear-out and pour. If the slab is broken rather than just uneven we will tell you that instead of grinding a bad slab smooth.
Is grinding dusty?
Not the way we do it. We run vacuum dust collection, and wet where it suits the job, so the work does not turn into somebody else's cleanup.
Can you grind inside an occupied building?
Yes. Dust collection, containment and off-hours scheduling -- we are open 24 hours a day.
Will the ground area match the rest of the floor?
It will be flat and safe. An exact colour and texture match on old concrete is not something anyone can honestly promise, and we will say so up front.
